Camden Town Brewery is preparing to toast the end of the year with the launch of a limited-edition lager, called ‘Beer 2016’. The is the latest in its ‘year beer’ series, launched in 2013.
Aged in cognac, tequila and bourbon barrels for the past 12 months, the full-bodied ‘freestyle’ lager has notes of dark rum, sweet treacle and cocoa. This year’s edition is available in a limited run of 2,016 bottles of 750ml each, illustrated by London artist Jay Cover. The 8.1% ABV lager (£9.99) is available at Camden’s bars, as well as beerhawk.co.uk, and good bottle shops.
Jasper Cuppaidge, Founder and CEO of Camden Town Brewery, said: “Beer 2016 to me is a beer to sum up the year; something to remember all the great things that have happened over the past 12 months, encapsulating the memories of what we’ve been up to here at Camden. Our yearly beers are one to hold on to, remembering who brewed it, the amount of time and love that went in to it. It’s a way of looking back, keeping the memories intact and getting us excited for what’s next to come.”
